Responsive Web Design

Responsive web design is an approach used to create web sites that provide an optimal viewing experience and are easy to read and navigate on all devices.  This reduces the necessity for resizing, panning, and scrolling across a wide range of devices such as desktop computer monitors, tablets and mobile phones.

A website designed using a responsive web design adapts the appearance of the page to the viewing device by using fluid, proportion-based grids and flexible images. It seems like magic that your website shrinks and stretches to fit any device.

This results in a positive user experience across a wide range of devices from desktop computers to tablets and smartphones.  We use responsive theme designs for our websites as well as creating stand alone mobile websites.

Mostly the concept of responsive web design is referring to the single responsive version of your website as the site your viewers see using any device.  For instance a WordPress website and blog, like this one, is the same installation page for page and is identical on any device.

It is important to know that a major priority for a mobile optimized website is that the web site perform well. Sometimes there is too much information on the website and it will bog down the mobile performance if all of it is included.  In these cases it might be better to have a separate mobile version.
